Anna Johns, Mental Health Counselor
Is your child struggling with anxiety, grief, or behavioral issues? Maybe you’ve noticed they’re more withdrawn, easily overwhelmed, or having trouble at school or with peers. As a parent, it’s heartbreaking to see your child suffer and not know how to help. You may feel stuck—unsure how to respond, how to support them, or where to find the right care. At a time when mental health challenges are rising among children and teens, getting support early is crucial. You don’t have to walk through this alone.
I’m Anna Johns, a master’s level clinician who specializes in counseling children and adolescents. My passion for mental health began by witnessing the emotional struggles in my own community. Today, I help children ages 4 and up manage anxiety, depression, grief, and emotional dysregulation in a safe, supportive environment. I also have experience working with children with developmental disorders and am ABA trained. I use a mix of evidence-based practices—including play-based and behavioral approaches—tailored to each child’s unique needs.
My approach integrates professional counseling with faith-based principles, creating space for hope and healing. I believe that every child is deeply loved by God and capable of growth, even in the face of great emotional challenges. My work is inspired by Psalm 18:16, “He reached down from on high and took hold of me; He drew me out of deep waters,” and verse 28, “You, Lord, keep my lamp burning; my God turns my darkness into light.” These verses reflect my conviction that healing and light are possible—even when life feels heavy.
Therapy with me is a collaborative journey. I begin by building trust with both you and your child, listening to what’s going on, and identifying the root of their struggles. From there, we work on tools for emotional regulation, resilience, and healthy communication. Sessions are child-centered, creative, and developmentally appropriate—designed to help your child feel safe, seen, and supported.
At The Abundant Life Institute, we believe in nurturing the whole child—emotionally, mentally, and spiritually. Whether your child is navigating big emotions, a recent trauma, or difficulty at home or school, I’m here to help. Together, we can take the first step toward peace, healing, and a more abundant life.
If you’re ready to help your child heal and grow, I’d be honored to walk alongside your family. Let’s begin this journey together.
